My Belief

I believe hockey is more than a game. It’s a catalyst. A training ground for life.
When players develop the tools to master their mindset, they don’t just perform better — they carry those lessons into everything else they do.

A Story That Stuck With Me

Hockey players at the highest level understand something that’s often overlooked in player development: the higher you go, the more the game becomes a mental battle.

The physical gap gets smaller. Everyone can skate. Everyone is skilled. But mindset — that’s what separates the good from the great.

As Yogi Berra, a Hall of Fame catcher and 10-time World Series champion with the New York Yankees, famously said:

“Baseball is 90% mental — the other half is physical.”

It’s funny, but it lands — and it's just as true in hockey.

Eighty percent.

That number came up in a story I once read about legendary NHL coach Roger Neilson. While with the Flyers, their team psychologist asked players to raise their hands when he called out the percentage of the game they believed was mental.

No hands at 30%.

None at 50%.

A few at 60%.

But most of the room raised their hands at 80%.

And yet — we still see the same thing today:
Players train their bodies. They sharpen their skills. They work with shooting coaches, skating coaches, strength coaches…

But barely anyone invests in the mental side of the game.

Even though everyone knows that’s where the real edge is.

That’s why I do what I do.

As a former professional player, I know what it feels like to struggle with confidence, lose focus under pressure, and wonder if you're really cut out for it.
I’ve been through the grind — and I’ve studied what helps athletes not only break through those blocks, but come out stronger on the other side.

I blend lived experience, deep listening, and powerful coaching to help hockey players build mindset, character, and internal drive — not just better stats.
